Sweet Bumpas Cakes in Durham is now making "Please Say Gay" cakes in response to HB755, also known as the Parents' Bill of Rights.

This proposed bill would ban the teaching of sexual identities and gender orientations to students in kindergarten through third grade. If passed, teachers would be required to notify parents if their child requests a change to their name or pronouns.

The bakery plans to sell the cakes until the end of Pride Month with a percentage of the sales going to the LGBTQ Center in Durham.
