Disabled Veteran gets a new home

A veteran who was shot back in 2003 has a new lease on life.  While trying to save another soldiers life, he himself was shot. After 70 abdominal surgeries and 5 brain surgeries, Alan Babin Jr. was given one of the greatest gifts ever the day after Veterans day. Gary Sinise, the man who played Lt. Dan on Forrest Gum, through his foundation, and with many partners in the home building process, constructed an accessible living space for Babin.

Thanks to a chance meeting between the two, Babin now has a capable house that he can control through the touch of a button.

"Thank you for all you've given on behalf of this nation. It's a great honor to say ‘welcome home, my friend.’ May God bless you and your beautiful family always, and may God bless the United States of America you so faithfully served,” said Sinise.
