The Real Reason Taylor Swift Has Never Headlined Super Bowl Halftime Show

Taylor Swift has surpassed just about every musical milestone that exists and has broken a slew of records during her decades in the spotlight, but she's never headlined the Super Bowl.

According to Time, the "Karma" songstress has been asked to perform during the Super Bowl Halftime Show a few times, but has "allegedly declined the slot due to having inked a long-term partnership with Coca-Cola."

Why would one partnership stop Swift from headlining the Super Bowl for years?

Coca-Cola is the rival brand of Pepsi, who was the sponsor of the halftime show until 2022. Apple Music took over as the sponsor that year, and Swift was once again offered the chance to take the stage at the most anticipated American football event of the year.

Per TMZ, the "Lavender Haze" hitmaker once again declined because she was busy working on a few of her "Taylor's Version" albums. Time mentioned that sponsorship conflicts and a consistently grueling schedule likely contributed to Swift passing on the opportunity more than once.

Though the "Shake It Off" standout, who played her last-ever Eras Tour show a few months ago, will not be gracing the field at Super Bowl LIX, she is expected to be in the stands cheering on her beau, Kansas City Chiefs' tight end Travis Kelce as he takes on the Philadelphia Eagles.
