Okay, I think we all know that CD sales have been crumbling ever since the internet was created. From Limewire, to iTunes, to the iHeart Radio app. People just have easier access to download.
Now, I'm a bit old school. I like to have physical copies of a cd for my favorite artists. But that still is only 2-3 CDs that I'll buy a year.
Billboard reported this that BestBuy told music suppliers that they will discontinue distrubtion after July 1st.
The article also reports that Target is working on a new arrangement on selling CDs as well.
It looks like things are backwards. Vinyl is cool so the big stores sell that now. Next thing you know it's going to be a hipster trend to have CDs and record stores will be more popular for that now!
