This is the second time in the past year or so that Texas State frats have been suspended after students dying. Then Jordan Taylor. Today Matt Ellis.
I went to Texas State so this definitely feels weird, as did hearing about the horrific death of Jordan Taylor. I've never been a part of sorority, nor was I ever interested. I know the basis or Greek life about unity and friendship. But I will say that I've heard awful hazing stories, and been to a party jam packed with people. I know in college, we all drink a lot. Penn State has also suspended Greek activities after a student dying of alcohol activities. Their University President saying "if we are witnessing the beginner of the end of Greek life at Penn State".
Along with LSU, 10 students there were charged after a freshman died after hazing.
