Will there be a John Tucker Must Die sequel?

Actor Jesse Metcalfe, who played John Tucker in the popular Y2K film, recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the possibility of a sequel stating:

"It may live on. I'm hopeful. I think this script that I've read is a great jumping-off point. It's really well executed."

The 45-year-old standout teased the sequel during a "panel Q&A at a Chicago fan expo" in March, revealing that most of his former cast members were up for a second film; one that he would particularly "love" to be apart of and had already seen a script for.

"I think everybody's up for it, so hopefully it'll happen. I can't speak for them, but I know that they're in the script." Metcalfe recently spoke to co-stars Sophia Bush (who played Beth) and Arielle Kebbel (who played Carrie), both of whom expressed excitement regarding the possibility of a sequel and would most likely take part in the film.

The popular actor was not able to confirm involvement from Brittany Snow (who played Kate) and Ashanti (who played Heather) despite their names being mentioned in the script. Metcalfe's former co-stars might feel indifferent about participating in a sequel, but he's hopeful for the future of the film.

"I think it'd be cool. They rebooted Mean Girls... I think it makes sense, you know? I think we're kind of in a Y2K moment right now. There's definitely an appetite for it. So yeah, it feels good."
