Laney College Football team has definitely been in the lime-light after being followed by Netflix fifth season of Last Chance U. The series followed the coaches and players of Laney’s 2019 football team highlighting the life of a student athlete, what it takes to go from junior college to a four-year, as well as gentrification in Oakland.
The team recently went viral on Twitter after Coach Lousi posted a video of the team helping a man on his wheelchair complete his hiking trip at Fremont’s famous Mission Peak. The handicapped man could not make it all the way to the top due to the rocks, until Laney’s football team decided to carry him up. Watch the heart-felt video HERE!
