We all know the famous line - "Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should." Bioscience company COLOSSAL isn't heeding the warning. The company is seeking to bring back the wooly mammoth in an attempt to combat climate change. They believe that the wooly mammoths would be able to help maintain permafrost areas such as Siberia by knocking down trees and creating natural grasslands.
The company believes what they're doing could save the planet, but others are feeling like they've already seen this nightmare play out.
So how does knocking down trees help save the planet from climate change? According to founder Ben lamm, the project could "sequester a lot of carbon and keep the permafrost cooler." COULD?! We're bringing back mega-fauna because they 'COULD' help climate change??? Jeff Goldbloom, we need you, you're our only hope.
