Sabrina Carpenter's music video for "Manchild" was a memorable one, but now she is revealing the surprising injury she sustained behind the scenes.

During a recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the Grammy-winning singer, 26, explained how she didn't make it out unscathed while filming the video in the "great outdoors," per People. "Manchild" served as the lead single from her 2025 album Man's Best Friend.

"I fell on a cactus," she said. "It's so easy to laugh when people get hurt. And I did. But then I started crying."

Carpenter also explained why the video, which harkened in her new Man's Best Friend era, was one of her most ambitious projects so far.

"I'll be honest, that shoot was so ambitious. We shot 37 outfits," she said, adding, "That was probably my biggest shoot I've ever done. I'm so grateful to be able to make that production of my dreams. But it was definitely... We endured a lot of pain to get the finished product."

The effort earned her a Best Music Video nomination for the 2026 Grammy Awards. Speaking to host Seth Meyers, who called it a fun "old-school throwback" to "grand" music videos, she shared why that nod was nice to receive after making her vision for the video come to life.

"I really like that because I think — I make pop music and sometimes you don't expect to see those visuals in a song like that. So that one means a lot to me. I'm very excited that everyone has like the video."

In addition to the Best Music Video nomination, Carpenter secured five other nods for the upcoming event, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year and more. See the full list of nominees.
