Abbott To Throw Out Virtual First Pitch For Rangers' Season Opener

Governor Greg Abbott will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Globe Life Field on Friday night, but he won't be in the arena. Abbott will be outside the Capitol Building in Austin, more than 200-miles from the new sports venue in Arlington, and his pitch will be a virtual one. The Rangers' season opener against the Colorado Rockies will also be their first game ever at Globe Life Field. There won't be any fans in the stands to start the pandemic-shortened season of only 60-games.
