There are many benefits to a vegan diet, and as a "new vegan," Lizzo has been experiencing some delicious plant-based food, and has recently shared what she eats in a day with fans.
In a video on TikTok, the singer posted several savory and sweet meals and snacks that she has been incorporating into her daily diet. She wrote along with the clip, "As a new vegan I'm enjoying exploring flavors from plants & plant based proteins! Every journey is personal & deserves to be celebrated." She also says in the video that "this is not everyday, but this is a pretty average one."
So, what's on Lizzo's vegan menu on an "average" day? Let's start with the most important meal of the day: Breakfast! And it's a green breakfast smoothie she makes with coconut water, kale and/or spinach, and frozen fruit. Next up for lunch is a kale salad with red cabbage, broccoli, avocado, white onions and carrots.
For a snack, in place of Flamin Hot Cheetos (which she said "weren't good for my acid reflux"), she found an alternative vegan Cheeto that she dips in hummus she got from the farmer's market.
At dinner time, using mushroom "meatballs," she creates a "truffle chickpea mushroom ball thing" with a side of quinoa and the same salad she made from earlier. And while she doesn't really like diet cola, she had some vegan diet soda left over from a party for some "sparkles in [her] throat."
And what's dinner without a little sweetness for dessert? Lizzo makes a peanut butter and jelly smoothie using peanut butter, frozen strawberries, oats, oat milk and vanilla protein powder.
