Kanye West Will Reportedly Only Make Gospel Music From Now On

While we (not so) patiently await the arrival of Jesus Is King, Kanye West has hosted a number of listening parties over the weekend. On Saturday night (September 28) he curated an event in Chicago and today (September 29) plans to do one in New York City before officially dropping his new album tonight.

Andrew Barber of FakeShoreDrive was in attendance at the Chicago event, and aside from reporting that the previously teased "New Body" will be cut from the album, which includes features from the likes of Clipse and saxophonist Kenny G, he claims that the rapper announced he would no longer be making secular music.

"Kanye also announced that he is no longer making secular music. Only Gospel from here on out," he tweeted. The statement is not outlandish, considering Yeezy's recent dedication to God and Sunday Service events, which inspired his ninth album. Check out Barber's tweet below.

Aside from the new album West also plans to release an accompanying IMAX film, Jesus Is King: A Kanye West Film, next month. Those in attendance at the listening party events have also been treated to a screening of the movie.

Though Jesus Is King was initially supposed to come out on Friday (September 27), the new release date is exactly a year after his ultimately scrapped project Yandhi was scheduled to drop.
