THESE ANIMALS NEED YOUR HELP

Austin Pets Alive! is searching for foster homes for many of its animals as it prepares to possibly evacuate from its location on West Cesar Chavez Street.

"This morning, we unexpectedly woke to some water already making its way onto Cesar Chavez near Lamar," the organization said. "Our current goal is to move as many animals as possible from our facility into foster homes before noon."

The Lower Colorado River Authority may open up more floodgates at both the Mansfield Dam and the Tom Miller Dam, which could raise levels on Lake Austin and Lady Bird Lake (near where APA! is located).

APA does not expect its facility to flood but is concerned about being able to access it. That's why it wants to get as many animals as possible out of its facility and into foster homes.

Anyone interested in fostering can email foster@austinpetsalive.org.
