Hands-Free Texting Still Isn't Safe

Hands-free texting is not safer to use while driving.

Most studies show that using a phone while driving a car causes more accidents than drivers abusing drugs or alcohol.

Most people know that texting and driving is dangerous, and that's why laws have been passed to restrict it, with people being told to use a hands-free texting system instead.

But a new study from the Texas A&M Transportation Institute shows hands-free texting isn't any safer than actually handling your phone.

Experts say it's not using your fingers to text that's dangerous, it's the mental distraction.
